About Us

Promoting the interests of members and community by fostering the economic and cultural wellbeing of the Nimbin area.

The Nimbin Chamber of Commerce promotes the interests of its members and community by fostering the economic, social and cultural wellbeing of the Nimbin area. We are committed to the grass roots values of our community.

The Nimbin Chamber of Commerce aims to encourage, promote, support and assist local businesses on a not-for-profit basis through:

  • Recognising the unique nature of Nimbin and the need for economic activity to be appropriate and sustainable and in the interests of our diverse membership.

  • Upholding and promoting the need for cultural integrity.

  • Recognising the serious impact of global warming on our community and seeking to mitigate its impacts on economic, environmental, social, and mental wellbeing.

  • Assisting and promoting the establishment of appropriate economic activities by providing support, mentoring and advice, and promoting employment and training in the Nimbin area.

  • Actively encouraging community partnerships, seeking grants, or other sources of funding, to support the aims of the Chamber and the economic and social development of Nimbin.

  • Promoting appropriate and sustainable tourism for the area.

  • Providing a forum for discussion of issues affecting local business.

  • Acting as an effective conduit between the business community and relevant bodies such as Lismore City Council and Business NSW.

  • Supporting community events through sponsorship and promotion.

  • Encouraging and promoting sustainable and energy efficient business practices.

  • A commitment to organisational transparency.
